The Ministry of Home Affairs authorized 10 central agencies to monitor, intercept and decrypt any information transmitted, received or stored in any computer on Friday. Permitted agencies include IB, NCB, ED, CBI, NSA, RA&W. The order reignited the privacy debate with critics asking if computers were being monitored with an eye on the 2019 general elections. The Centre has defended the move, saying that it is just reiterating a 2009 UPA era rule. #LicenseToSnoop #RightToPrivacy
